Cleaning and Hygiene:
Basically there are two types of Cleanings: "Regular Cleaning or Prophy" and "Deep Cleaning". The Regular Cleaning involves cleaning from the gum line up with a small polishing cup, it is a simple and fast procedure, it is beneficial to young kids and people that do not develop too much tartar build up; whereas the Deep Cleaning involves cleaning from under the gum where tartar usually builds up, is more difficult and tedious to remove, it sometimes takes up to four visits to remove all of the tartar. Once you do your first complete Deep Cleaning at McCoy Dental the next ones will be done at a dramatically reduced fee.
Periodic Examination:
The tremendous benefit of Periodic Examination is that it is Free and takes very little time to do, we will detect any dental problem in it's starting stages, this procedure is most beneficial to young patients that have not had the settling of dental disease yet, or adults that have had their teeth recently and properly restored, usually this service is provided at the same time of a Dental Cleaning.
Teeth Whitening:
The Whitening we do in our office is the professional type in which we make custom trays for you to wear, the bleaching trays are extremely precise and very comfortable and can be worn for up to 8 hours at night while you sleep, imagine 8 hours of light but constant bleaching while you are asleep, with no sensitivity.
Cosmetic Dentistry
It mostly involves "Porcelain Veneers" with the objective of making the front teeth look whole and youthful again, although most of the veneers are made in porcelain there are some made with Composites bringing the cost dramatically low.
Oral Surgery:
Includes Extractions or getting the tooth out, it is a permanent solution to infection or pain, it is usually the last resort especially when finances are not good. It also includes wisdom tooth extractions.
Bridges:
There are 2 types of Bridges: Fixed and Removable; Fixed bridges are cemented or bonded to your own natural teeth, you cannot take them out. Removable Bridges are clasped or clamped to your natural teeth but are not cemented so you can easily take them out for cleaning.
Fix Chipped Teeth
This service is provided as an emergency on the spot treatment because Dr McCoy knows nobody wants to have a visible defect when smiling, the filling or repair is invisible and the tooth looks like "Nothing ever happened"
Tooth Colored Fillings:
As the name says these fillings are the same color of the tooth rendering them virtually invisible, these fillings are especially designed for front teeth.
Metal Fillings:
This type of fillings are extremely strong and long lasting, this fillings are designed to be used on back posterior teeth where most of the abusive chewing forces are applied, they are silver color but less noticeable when used on back teeth.
Amalgam Removal
This service is provided to patients that for cosmetic reasons want to remove the silver or black amalgams from their body, it is done with a High Evacuation system to remove debris and fumes.
Crowns
Crowns are kind of the last resort to make your teeth functional again, it restores missing or destroyed tooth structure with metal or porcelain, crowns are long lasting and strong. They usually take 2 - 3 appointments to do.
Root Canal Therapy:
Root Canal Therapy is a procedure designed to save your tooth from Extraction, the benefit is that it quickly takes care of any pain that you may have and it allows you to enjoy having your tooth for many years afterwards, whereas extracting the tooth will prompt you in the future to replace the missing tooth and that could turn very expensive.
